Uraanivoiman vastustajat kokoontuvat Tervolassa - kansainvälinen Ei Uraanivoimaa! -leiri

Laajapohjainen ilmastoaiheinen Ei Uraanivoimaa!- leiri järjestetään Tervolassa 20.-26.7. Leirillä halutaan tukea paikallisia liikkeitä ja ryhmiä
heidän taistelussaan uraanivoimaa vastaan. Leirillä on osallistujia
useista EU- maista sekä Venäjältä.

Leiri tuo yhteen kansainvälisiä nuorisojärjestöjä ja paikallisia
liikkeitä. Leirillä käsitellään uraanivoiman polttoaineketjuun
liittyviä riskejä ja tuodaan esiin kestävämpiä vaihtoehtoja.

Nuclear energy: yesterday, today, tomorrow?

Child of the 80s, I never thought that in 2009 I will take part in anti-nuclear activities. But that is the reason why I came to Finland last week. Till July 26 "Nuclear Climate Camp" will be my home.

 

Finnish government is considering building of new nuclear power plants, sereval of them - in Lapland. Lapland and nuclear plant sounds weird enough to pay people`s attention. Put together with risks to the environment it has gathered people from the whole Finland and many other countries.

Uranium Power Meets Local and International Resistance in Finland

People from ten countries across Europe are
gathering in Finnish Lapland this week to support the local
resistance against planned uranium mines and nuclear power plants.
Nuclear Free Finland has brought together international youth
organisations and local movements for a week of events highlighting
the dangers of nuclear power and the possibilities of truly
